Our story

Building Europe's next generation of business angels

Angel investing is evolving.

A new generation of diverse investors is emerging: ambitious operators, founders, executives and domain experts who want to do more than build successful careers. They want to actively shape the future of European innovation by backing the startups building it.

DigitsUp exists to make that happen.

Through hands-on education, a collaborative investment club and an engaged community, we help professionals build the knowledge, confidence and network to become active business angels.

We believe the best investors bring more than capital. They bring experience, networks, diverse perspectives and a genuine commitment to helping founders succeed.

We take a generalist approach, investing in pre-seed startups across Europe and beyond. Every opportunity is evaluated on its own merits, and our members decide independently whether to participate in each investment.

Why now

Europe's next generation of founders deserves Europe's next generation of business angels.

Europe is producing world-class founders at an unprecedented pace. Now we need a new generation of business angels to match - more diverse, more operator-led and more actively engaged in backing the startups shaping our future.

Across the continent, thousands of executives, operators and domain experts have spent years building products, scaling businesses and leading teams. They have the expertise, networks and resources to become exceptional business angels, yet many have never considered investing or don't know how to get started.

We believe that's one of Europe's greatest untapped opportunities.

By helping more professionals become active investors, we're unlocking not only more capital, but also more expertise, mentorship and meaningful support for the founders building Europe's future.

We want to see more great founders funded, regardless of their background. That's why we're committed to bringing more diverse investors into the ecosystem.

In contrast to classic pitch formats, practice is at the centre here: participants analyse startups as a team, work with realistic cap tables, and make joint investment decisions. The interactive approach aims to make knowledge tangible and lower barriers to entry.

The response shows: formats like this can not only build understanding, but also spark concrete curiosity - particularly among women who have so far had little contact with angel investing.
