Our story

Making angel investing more accessible across Europe

DigitsUp is a female-forward initiative building open infrastructure for angel investing in Europe.

We make access to early-stage investing more practical, inclusive, and accessible for everyone who wants to participate — mobilising more capital, network, and know-how into innovation, and helping close the gender investment gap by backing more female-led and diverse teams.

Why now

Why angel investing? Why now?

Europe needs more people participating in innovation. Not only as founders, operators, or employees, but also as early supporters and investors.

At the same time, angel investing still feels inaccessible to many: too risky, too technical, too complex, or simply “not for people like me.” This means that a lot of capital, expertise, and network stays on the sidelines.

The gap is even bigger for female-led and diverse teams, who continue to receive only 2% of venture funding. DigitsUp exists to change that: by making angel investing more understandable, practical, and inclusive — and by helping more people use their capital, knowledge, and network to support the next generation of startups.

In contrast to classic pitch formats, practice is at the centre here: participants analyse startups as a team, work with realistic cap tables, and make joint investment decisions. The interactive approach aims to make knowledge tangible and lower barriers to entry.

The response shows: formats like this can not only build understanding, but also spark concrete curiosity — particularly among women who have so far had little contact with angel investing.
